ABOUT
Who Is Grant Gusche?
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed creating things from scratch. The process of taking an idea and bringing it to life has been something I’ve cherished throughout my life. I’m 38 years old, originally from Toronto, Ontario, where I attended Swansea Public School and later went to Western Tech. After 34 years in Toronto, I moved to Cornwall, Ontario. Over the years, I worked in various roles, including as a custodian at Apotex and Holt Renfrew at Yorkdale Mall. However, after injuring myself, I decided to change career paths and pursued graphic design, studying at Algonquin College in Ottawa. I’ve been happily married for 15 years to my wonderful wife, Paige, and together we have three children: James, Dante, and Sofie. We also have a black cat named Salem, whom we adopted last year when he was 8 months old, originally a barn cat. In addition to my creative work, I’ve gained some experience in government employment, working with Cornwall Municipal Works for three summers. During that time, I was introduced to QGIS and AutoCAD while logging new and retired street light poles and installing speed tubes. My first exposure to art-based computer applications came through Macromedia Flash, an application that no longer exists. It was experimenting with Flash that sparked my interest in Adobe After Effects and rotoscoping projects.
